While a global pandemic continues to shatter our world, all of us have had to make major adjustments to our everyday routines. COVID-19 has forced fitness centers and boutique fitness studios to close their physical doors to members, so we’ve all had to get creative with finding new ways to move our bodies. In this digital age, it’s no wonder that we’ve turned to the internet to help us get in our daily dose of movement. As a result, digital fitness and online streaming services have skyrocketed since COVID-19 has emerged. Online workouts are a fun, accessible, low-maintenance and cost-effective way to stay in shape without having to leave the comfort of your home.

Fit for Me by Courtney is one corner of the online fitness world that is a saving grace for anyone who has been looking to stay in shape at home during this pandemic. Her low-impact, highly effective streaming service has rejuvenated many people’s minds and bodies during this stressful, unpredictable time. Through her app, Courtney shares low-impact pilates, barre and yoga workouts that aim to sculpt, tone and lengthen your muscles. She also posts free workouts on her social media platforms, such as snippets of her program on her Instagram feed, a few workouts on her IGTV and several to her YouTube page.

A few months ago, I discovered Courtney’s Instagram from another blogger I follow. It was a period of time when I was feeling run down and depleted from the HIIT and cardio workouts I had been doing, so I decided to give her workouts a try. I did the one-week free trial on her app and fell in love with her style of gentle yet effective movements.

This morning, I decided to try another one of her workouts, so I opted for her 30-minute cardio sculpt class on YouTube.

I grabbed my 3-pound dumbbells, rolled out my yoga mat and pressed play. Courtney welcomed the class with a warm smile and a gentle presence that immediately put me at ease and made me excited to give my body some much-needed TLC. She kicked off the workout with a planking series to fire up the core, and man, did it burn! Then, we moved on to a series of booty and oblique exercises, an arm sequence with light weights and an ab series on the floor, which were all interspersed with bursts of jumping jacks and high knees.

It was a well-rounded workout with the perfect combination of sweat-dripping cardio and sculpting pilates moves, which worked every angle and every muscle. The bodyweight moves were fun and innovative, and since you completed each exercise for 12 reps, the workout was full of variety. I never got bored, and the 30 minutes flew by.

The workout was also an ideal balance of work and rest. The majority of the workout focused on quick transitions from one exercise to another, so I got my heart rate up without jumping around or putting any pressure on my joints. After a taxing series, Courtney instructed the class to melt into child's pose or relax into a downward dog position, which provided a temporary relief from the burn.

Courtney was an incredible instructor who completed the workout right alongside you, so we were both breathing rapidly and sweating together. She voiced helpful cues and kept track of the counts, so I could focus on the movements and immerse myself in the workout.

It was such an incredible sweat session, and I felt so rejuvenated and centered after completing the workout with her. I will definitely make her workouts a part of my weekly routine. I'm so curious to hear your thoughts, so let me know if you try one of her workouts!
